Christmas Eve Fellowship

Last night many of us gathered at Discover Church in Chesapeake for their Christmas Eve service. Pastor Patrick brought the music and it was incredible. Pastor Rob delivered the message “the Christmas story,” reminding us of what’s most important on this day.

Following church we gathered a Sakura where we met up with friends from another church. We had 15 people at our table and two serves tag teamed to ensure we taken very good care of.

  1. Last night was a true blessing. To be with like minded Christians sharing a message and then a meal together…it gets no better than that!

  2. It is interesting to watch how Christian fellowships grow. It is almost like a ministry grows to the point where it becomes a little more impersonal, a little more distance is added between each participant, a little more of the glue that holds it together weakens, and then a new twig begins to grow and mature. We seem to long for the closeness of others, and through that closeness feel closer to Jesus Christ. Closeness to Christ and to others is one reason small groups are so important. In a larger setting, we are less comfortable with sharing about ourselves, of discussing our most private thoughts, of being honest about our relationships with Christ, of where we are succeeding in becoming better Christians and where we are failing to grow.

Moyock Christian Fellowship is small and close. It is a place where we are at the heart of the Christian experience. Come join us. Come open your heart. Come make new friends. Come experience the power and love of Jesus Christ. Our get togethers are rarely scheduled more than a few days in advance, so feel free to post a “Hi guys, would you like to . . . ?” and we will see if we can get a group together and make it happen. May God continue to bless us all.
