Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:15
The news on the Coronavirus in the United States is getting more dire by the day. We have depleted our stores of necessary items from food to water and medical supplies. The three big box retailers I visited early this morning were not restocked, shelves remained empty.
The most vulnerable among us were unable to stock up, and now are left with nothing to buy.
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. Hebrews 13:16
This is when those of us who have, need to share with those who have not. There are many vulnerable in our communities, and most of us know who they are. We need to reach out to them and “share what we have.” Don’t do this just because you know it will be pleasing to God, do this because it’s what Jesus would have you to do. I call this a double portion.
Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
So before you crack open that next case of water, toilet paper or freezer, check in on your neighbor who may have nothing but hope.
