Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6
The warnings from the U.S. government on the potential harm the Coronavirus (COVID-19) might cause grow stronger and more dire by the day. Many are either working from, off work, laid off or face very uncertain times. Our brick and mortar churches are closed, and our traditional worship concepts interrupted. But all is not lost.
It’s ever more important now, that we remember the buildings we visit on Sunday to worship are not the church, we (God’s children) are the church. Unless we gather physically in that building to praise and lift up the Lord, it’s simply just that … a building.
We can still gather together thru on-line worship, recorded worship and the written word. We don’t have to stop worshiping the Lord just because we can’t get into his house. We are the Body of Christ.
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Romans 12;4-5
I would suggest that though we are in most uncertain times, we also have the capacity to be in the most prayerful times. With a little extra time on our hands we can crack open the Bible, read a few verses, and pray. If you don’t have a Bible, it’s available online for free at BibleGateway.com.
Pray without ceasing. Thessalonians 5:17
