Coronavirus (COVID-19) – We can learn from the Worlds Greatest Prepper

We are in a season of many unknowns. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is front and center on the minds of many. But “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” John 14:1. I have good news in these times concern, there exists a book that is the most published and sold book in the history of the world. This book contains information and answers to the issues that concern us today. The book is the Christian Bible.

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13

We can draw strength from 1 Corinthians, and this verse applies to women as well. Being watchful is necessary to lessen the chances of contracting the Coronavirus, and a new phrase has been added to our lexicons: Social Distancing. There hasn’t been a time in recent history where we have needed to stand firm in our faith more than today. Not only do we have COVID-19 to contend with, but we the degraded moral fiber of society attacking Christianity from inside. We don’t just need to act like men, but we need to act like women too. This is the time to step up to the plate, and be firm in your faith, but to also be strong in your home, family and community. And more so we must be strong as Christian’s.

Much has be said about the preppers and others stocking up on supplies because of COVID-19. The reality is everyday we learn more about how this disease is affecting us locally and around the world. Being prepare for uncertain times is actually Biblical. “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” 1 Timothy 5:8

I think 1 Timothy makes it clear we need to be prepared to provide for our families. Many households live paycheck to paycheck and don’t often have more than they will consume in a week or so on hand. I suspect many of these families used savings and charge cards to add to their cupboards.

In closing I want to remind you of the worlds first prepper, Noah. In fact he remains the worlds greatest prepper to this day. “By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.” Hebrew 11:7

Just like Noah, we are concerned by events as yet unseen. And also like Noah, must live our lives by faith.
