Did You Know for 3 May 2020

Thought of the Week from Brother Thom

Genesis 1:1 King James Version (KJV)
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Those are the first words of scripture in our Bible. Chapter 1, Verse 1. Sometimes we forget all that the very land our homes occupy was created by God, in the beginning … for us. Clearly everything we have, has been provided by God as well, but look at the Heavens and the Earth. You can stand on earth and gaze at heaven. I enjoy going to the beach and watching the water roll in and out. It’s incredible how everything in our environment is orchestrated to work in unison. Try to never lose sight of the majesty that was created by our Lord God … for us his children.

Genisis 1:1 is our Scripture of the Week

We’re growing and changing

We will no longer be publishing the Scripture of the Day in its current format. We have been posting the scripture that accompanies David Servant’s message each day. David covers those scriptures in his video so nothing is lost.

Instead we will be focusing on more original content centered on our weekly message.

The entire Bible in 66 weeks, Maybe

We are excited to launch our journey thru the Bible in 66 weeks. Now upfront, I want to say that some weeks may stretch into two to accomplish everything we need to cover. But, we’re going to hit as many of the great stories of the Bible as we can. So the fine print is that there is no way we’ll pull this off in 66 weeks, but it sound good.

We are starting with the 1st of 39 Books of the Old Testament today.

This is Ocular Melanoma Awareness Month

Join us as we support awareness of this devastating disease.

The American Cancer Society’s estimates for eye cancer in the United States for 2020 are:

  • 3,400 new cancers (mainly melanomas) of the eye and orbit: 1,890 in men and 1,510 in women
  • 390 deaths from cancers of the eye and orbit: 210 in men and 180 in women

UNITE714

We partnered with UNITE714 last month and are excited about this opportunity for worldwide prayer for the end of COVID-19.

2 Chronicles 7:14 King James Version (KJV)

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We are on Week 6, and suggest we all pray at 7:14am and or 7:14pm each day.
