Today’s Scripture – “And the Lord came down”

Last Sunday’s lesson was on the Tower of Babel from chapter 11 of Genesis. One of the striking verses from that chapter is verse 5. Here the we see the words “and the Lord came down.” This only happens four times in the Holy Bible. Here in chapter 11, and again Exodus 19:20, Numbers 11:25, and Numbers 12:5. Each of these verses relate to a key story in the Bible.

God talks to all of us every day, and hopefully we’re all listening. But, in these four instances God came down and spoke to someone, and as recorded to the world as well.

Genesis 11:5 King James Version

And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
