Thought of the Week
We shouldn’t confuse the phrase “Happy Memorial Day,” with Celebrating Memorial Day. They are two very different things. Memorial day by very definition is a day of remembrance. On this day we honor those who died in service to our country. This day is very different from Veterans Day when we celebrate the service of all who served. So today is not the day we slap veterans on the back thank them for their service, that will come on November 11th.
Today we celebrate the memory of those we lost. It’s a somber day. It’s fine that we have happy memories of those we lost, but make no mistake about it, this is not a happy day.
We at New Wesleyan believe that prayer is central to everything we do. You can reach us anytime by sending in your need using the form at the bottom of this page. Our prayer warrior are spread around the world but united in prayer.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6
Pray Without Ceasing
We are moving into the last week of Ocular Melanoma Awareness Month. But the good news is we can continue to pray for those fighting this cancer. Hour friend Deborah is home from Emery University Hospital in Atlanta and receiving palliative care. We want to keep Deborah and her family in our thoughts and prayers. Lord in Your Mercy, hear our Prayers.
We announced a change in our daily scripture format several weeks ago. Our new format focuses on our live content Sunday lessons. In addition we are providing a little commentary on the scripture that we hope you will find beneficial in your daily walks with Christ.
We have updated our childcare page for the Moyock, NC area. This page contains only state recognized centers in the local commuting area.
We are entering Week 10 of our prayer series with UNITE714. We joined churches around the world in praying for an end to COVID-19 and encourage you to join us each day at 7:14am and 7:14pm. The prayer is written out for you, and simply reading the text at either or both time or any other time of day will support this global call to prayer.
