Thus far, Moyock Christian Fellowship has made few comments about sexuality, though we have stated that we believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God. We do not pick and choose verses to support our beliefs; we believe the entire Bible to be the word of God, inspired by God, written down by man.On the subject of human sexuality, we recognize that it is a difficult and complex subject to address, especially when the Bible is added to the discussion. However, during this, still the first week of the new Presidential administration, the President has already signed an executive order on sexuality. In part, because of the President’s action, I believe it is time to have a discussion on sexuality and our beliefs.
At this point in time I do not know the full alphabet on trends in human sexuality.
As I understand it, the:
L stands for Lesbian
G stands for Gay
B stands for Bi-sexual
T stands for Trans-gender
Q stands for Queer (Gender queer), searching for a gender
I stands for Intersex (not either gender), sounds like “Q” to me
A stands for Asexual (attracted to neither gender)
These, however, are only the groupings of the most common variations of sexuality. Hmm . . . I believe the largest grouping has been omitted; that would be “H”; heterosexuals, the grouping created by God. Feel free to discuss any other variations of which you may know.
On a personal perspective; all of our videos and posts are based on a personal perspective; it is difficult for me to accept that sexuality is now something that seems to require instant recognition, and it often seems, instant gratification. Leaning hard on a television commercial, “It’s my sexuality and I want it now!” No matter which grouping with which you identify, no matter how many laws the weak minds in Washington may pass, the vast majority of Christians are not going to accept, and should not accept, what you want. As I have indicated in previous posts, change can be glacially slow. It may be forced down our throats, but I am not going to accept sexuality as including anything other than male and female as God intended. I also believe that all believing Christians should feel the same way.
The creation of man is addressed in Genesis. God created two genders of humans; males and females. Stated another way, and perhaps too simply, all other genders are either biological anomalies or are changes initiated by external influences, often parents. Changes caused by external influences are called environmental. God created man and He created woman. “Woman,” by the way, is not the word we use to conclude prayers. So, point number one; those of us at Moyock Christian Fellowship base our attitudes on gender according to our interpretation of the Bible. We believe and agree that there are only two genders; male and female, man and woman.Later, we will find that the Bible does discuss relationships between the genders. However, there is NO additional Biblical reference to other genders. There are two; male and female. Genesis 1: 26-28 reads, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female He created He them. Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air; and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
Please notice that verse 28 reads “. . . be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth . . . “. This is important. Sexual relationships between man and man or woman and woman do not allow for either being fruitful or for multiplying. And that will be part of another post later this week.
May God bless you all.
