I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I like to spend this day being thankful for the men and women who risked their lives to settle the new world. They endured horrible conditions, diseases, loss of life, and in some cases watching their children starve to death. These folks had a bold desire to find and live out something new. The horrors of life on the prairie detailed by Laura Ingalls Wilder, in her book Little House on the Prairie, are indicative of the drive and determination these settlers and later our founding fathers (and mothers) endured.
I am thankful every day for the blessings God has put in my life, but today, I tend to focus on the men, women, and children that made today possible.
