MCF Men’s Retreat – Update #1

Hopefully you read our post yesterday about our first Men’s retreat since founding this church in August 2019. I took 7 men on a retreat at the church we were with in 2018 to Wintergreen, VA for a 3 day retreat. It was a great event, but the mass exodus of members leaving our old church including the the three founders of MCF prevented us from holding a second retreat.

You can’t scare us, we are Strong and Courageous

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Joshua 1:9

Lord in Your Mercy, hear our Prayers for our Emmaus Brothers and Sisters

So today we pause and pray that broken hearts be healed due to the loss of a loved one, family or friend. We pray for spiritual healing for those who have drifted from their relationship with God. We lift up those recovering from health issues to our Lord and Savior that they return to good health and wellbeing. Lastly we pray for all of God’s children in our deeply divided Nation.

Being Conservative Christians in an Upside Down World

These are very uncertain times. Our Nation has never been more dividied in modern history. Moyock Christian Fellowship does not condone violence as a means of achieving any desired outcome. The events by a group of anarchist at the United States Capitol was un-American, a breach of the peoples house, and a serious criminal act. We pray for our Nation and those who lost their lives on 6 January 2021.

Insurgents siege control of the U.S. Capitol, but that does not define us as a Nation

Far too much is being made of this events that occurred on Wednesday, 6 January 2021 at the U.S. Capitol. The loss of life is tragic. Ashli Babbit was killed by a Capitol Police Officer while trying to enter thru a window. She never stepped foot inside the building but was shot dead nonetheless. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick was attacked by insurgents and later died from his injuries. Three others died of natural causes on the Capitol grounds. We pray for each of their families and friends. We are also in prayer for the Officer that shot Ashlie Babbit, and his/her family.

Lord in Your Mercy, hear our Prayers for the family of United States Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick

Dear Heavenly Father God, we come to you in sorrow for a second day this week. Officer Brian Sicknick was in the performance of his duties when he sustained the injuries that ended his life last night. His death was unnecessary and a criminal assault upon his person and our Nation. Today we pray for Brian’s family, friends and fellow U.S. Capitol Police Officers. While we come to your in sorrow, we know you welcome Brian home in glory. Our Nation has never been so divided, and we ask for Your calm across our country. We ask all these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
