Homeless Ministry

In April 2021, Moyock Christian Fellowship committed to volunteering one day each week to work with and support the Homeless in Virginia Beach, VA at People in Need (PiN Ministry).

PiN exists to provide food, clothing, shelter, and free medical care for people that are either homeless or extremely poor. The ultimate focus is to help the homeless of Hampton Roads transform their lives by meeting them where they are and sharing a God that loves them and wants a relationship with them.

We love supporting PiN because it helps the volunteers live out the lesson Jesus Christ taught us in the book of Matthew 25, Holy Christian Bible. There are three key verses from Matthew 25 that resonate with us. In verses 35 and 36 Jesus describes the things that were done for him, and in verse 40 He explains the importance of those actions:

35 For I was hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Matthew 25

We’re excited about adding this outreach ministry at Moyock Christian Fellowship. One of our earliest mottos was “Serving God by Serving Others.” This ministry lets us live out that philosophy. We know some in the local community that is our home base in Moyock, NC which is 45 minutes away from Virginia Beach, may wonder why we’re in Virginia Beach instead of Moyock with this ministry. The answer is that the homeless tend to migrate to where homeless services are available.

If you have any questions about this ministry, or any of our other ministries, please let us know.
